Part-time Administrative Assistant services to the Village of St. Paris Mayor, Fiscal Officer and Village Administrator. This will be up to 20 hours a week plus the coverage of vacations and sick days. Duties will include, but not limited to, web site maintenance, collect and post utility receipts, assistance with zoning permits and violations, answering the telephone, making the daily bank deposit, collecting and delivering mail, and any other duties deemed appropriate by the Mayor, Fiscal Officer and Village Administrator.

The Village of St. Paris offers a summer meter water program where residents may rent a portable water meter for $10 (annual fee) to attach to the outside spigot for lawn and garden watering, pool or pond filling, auto care or any other large outside water use.
All water run through the rented meter will be calculated at the end of the season and the SEWER portion of the charges will be returned to the resident.
Village water rate = $11.40 per 1000gal
($4.05 for water & 7.35 for sewer)

The mobile recycle truck is available in St. Paris behind the Municipal Building at 135 W. Main Street on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 9:30 am - 11:30 am.
Cans, aluminum, glass, cardboard, paper, plastic (including filmy plastic) can all be recycled.

The Village of St. Paris in Champaign County Ohio, is seeking a Water and Sewer Operator and Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks, and operate a variety of equipment in the, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of Village water and sewer systems.
Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and two (2) years of experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair, or any combination of education and experience that yields the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to include, but not limited to, the following: some knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities; skill in operation of water treatment and sanitary sewer treatment; ability to work safely; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to respond to after-hours emergency calls within a reasonably short period of time on weeknights and during weekends; ability to serve as an essential staff person in the event of any emergency operation; man-made or natural disaster; or any other situation involving Village water and/or sewer.
Special Requirements: Valid State Driver’s License; CDL certification Class B or higher preferred. Ohio EPA Class II wastewater and Class I water operator certificate preferred or the ability to obtain these certifications in a reasonable amount of time. Preference will be given to applicants who hold the necessary certificates.
