Thornton Memorial Park

In December 2025, Village Council unanimously passed Resolution 1397 to rename Lafayette Park as Thornton Memorial Park, honoring Dale Thornton and his son, Michael Thornton, for their dedication and service to the Village.


In the spring of 2026, a new park sign was installed, and community volunteers generously donated their time, effort, and resources to restore the park. Contributions included flowers, plants, mulch, power washing, and countless hours of hard work.


Thornton Memorial Park has been beautifully brought back to life through the collective effort of caring community members. While improvements are ongoing, this cherished space now stands as a lasting tribute to the Thornton family's legacy and the community's spirit of service.
